The Microscopy Society of Ireland is proud to offer travel bursaries to allow members to attend conferences and workshops to promote Irish Microscopy.
Our bursaries are open to microscopists from all disciplines, backgrounds, and career stages. We particularly encourage applications from students and technical staff.
Applications should be sent to the MSI secretary (secretary@microscopy.ie) for consideration.
IMC21 Bursaries
MSI is offering bursaries to MSI members for attending IMC21 in Liverpool.
There are two types of bursaries available:
• Conference Bursary – maximum bursary award will be €600.
• Exhibition Only Bursary – maximum bursary award will be €100.

The deadline for submission of applications is the 19th of June 2026.
Student Travel Bursary Award
This award is for student members of the society to attend workshops and international training events. This award can be up to €500 and successful applicants will be expected to present their work at the next following occurrence of the MSI Annual Symposium.
Conference Travel Award
The Conference Travel award provides up to €100 for a national meetings and up to €250 for international meetings. Reports from successful applicants will be published on the MSI website after the conference.
